EL ALAMEIN, Egypt — UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in El Alamein on Sunday to discuss ties between the two countries and broader regional developments.
The leaders reviewed ways to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors in support of shared interests and the well-being of their people. They also exchanged views on the latest situation in the Middle East and ongoing efforts to address it.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued consultation on issues affecting the region. They said closer coordination is needed to help preserve security and stability amid shared challenges.
Sheikh Mohamed arrived earlier in El Alamein for what officials described as a fraternal visit. El-Sisi received him at the airport.
The visit comes as the UAE and Egypt continue to maintain close political and economic ties. The two countries have long worked together on regional diplomacy, development and security matters.
The UAE president was accompanied by a delegation that included Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, chairman of Zayed for Good Foundation; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, adviser to the UAE president; and several ministers and senior officials.
Further consultations between the two countries are expected as they continue to coordinate on regional priorities and bilateral cooperation.
