One person was killed and nine others injured after a vehicle carrying Indian nationals overturned in Oman’s Al Wusta governorate, according to the Royal Oman Police.
The crash took place on Sultan Said bin Taimur Road in the Wilayat of Haima, police said.
The victim died at the scene. The nine injured passengers were taken to Nizwa Hospital for medical care.
Two of the injured were transported by air by the Royal Oman Police Aviation service. The remaining seven were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Authorities have not released details about the passengers’ identities or the circumstances that caused the vehicle to leave the road and overturn.
The incident highlights the risks faced by motorists traveling across Oman’s long-distance highways, which connect major cities and remote communities across the sultanate. Police are expected to determine the cause of the crash as part of the investigation.
