DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — flydubai will add a second daily flight to Bangkok starting July 18 after strong demand for its recently launched service to the Thai capital.
The Dubai-based carrier said the new frequency comes only weeks after it began daily flights to Don Mueang International Airport on July 1. With the extra service, flydubai will operate up to 21 weekly flights to Thailand.
Sudhir Sreedharan, divisional senior vice president of commercial operations at flydubai, said the added route gives passengers more flexibility while supporting Dubai’s position as a major international aviation hub.
The airline said the Bangkok expansion is part of a wider network push. It recently launched flights to Benghazi in Libya and plans to begin service to Aleppo in Syria on July 20 and Pokhara in Nepal on Sept. 23.
The Bangkok flights are offered through the flydubai-Emirates codeshare partnership, which gives travelers a single ticket, through-checked baggage and access to a combined network of more than 240 destinations worldwide.
Flights from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport will now operate twice daily to Don Mueang International Airport. Further route growth is expected as the airline continues expanding its international network.
