RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Big 5 Construct Saudi has opened at Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center, bringing construction, industrial and infrastructure stakeholders together as Saudi Arabia continues to expand its project pipeline under Vision 2030.
The four-day event, running through Sept. 2, is being held under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. It was inaugurated by Eng. Fawaz bin Badr Al Shora, deputy minister of industry and mineral resources for industrial services and compliance.
Organized by dmg events, the exhibition brings together project owners, contractors, consultants, manufacturers and suppliers from across the construction and industrial sectors.
Focus on project delivery and supply chains
Discussions on the opening day centered on how stronger governance, earlier planning and closer cooperation between project stakeholders can improve the delivery of complex developments.
Industry sessions examined challenges around procurement, logistics, workforce development and supply chain resilience, with participants emphasizing the need to address potential bottlenecks earlier in a project’s lifecycle.
Another leadership session focused on construction-site planning, coordination and supervision. Speakers discussed the role of strong project leadership, execution planning and technology in improving efficiency and developing the skills of construction workforces.
The event comes as Saudi Arabia continues to develop large-scale infrastructure, real estate, tourism and entertainment projects as part of its broader economic diversification strategy.
Five events bring industry sectors together
Big 5 Construct Saudi is being held alongside four specialist events covering major areas of the built environment.
These include HVACR Saudi Arabia, FM & Clean Saudi Arabia, Heavy Saudi Arabia and Totally Concrete Saudi Arabia.
Together, the events cover areas ranging from heating, ventilation and air conditioning to facilities management, heavy construction equipment and concrete solutions.
Companies showcase construction solutions
Exhibitors at the Riyadh event are presenting products and services aimed at supporting Saudi Arabia’s expanding construction and infrastructure market.
Al-Futtaim Contracting announced the launch of its facilities management and fire and life safety operations in Saudi Arabia during the event, adding new capabilities to its services in the Kingdom.
Other exhibitors are showcasing air conditioning, steel, pumping, water management, insurance and construction-related technologies.
Companies including Hussein & AlHassan G. Shaker Bros., MedGulf, Al Yamamah Steel, Baz Steel, Zamil Steel Holding, Haier & Aljabr Saudi Electronics Trading, Grundfos Saudi Arabia and Wilo Saudi Arabia are among those participating.
The exhibition provides a platform for suppliers and project stakeholders to discuss procurement requirements, technical solutions and potential partnerships as major developments move forward.
Technology and workforce development
Technology adoption is also a key theme at the event, with industry discussions examining how digital tools and other technologies can improve project efficiency while supporting workforce development.
For Saudi Arabia’s construction sector, the issue is increasingly important as the scale and complexity of projects grow and developers face demands for stronger coordination, faster delivery and greater operational resilience.
