DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has resumed its tourist electric abra service at Al Mamzar Station, adding another leisure option for residents and visitors looking to enjoy the city’s waterfront.
The service had been temporarily suspended during development work in the area. RTA said the electric abra is now back in operation and is meant to offer a relaxed way to see some of Dubai’s newer leisure destinations.
The boat service runs daily from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., with the last trip leaving at 10:15 p.m. A 30-minute ride costs Dh60, while a 60-minute trip is priced at Dh120.
Each trip covers the full boat, which can carry up to eight passengers. RTA said the ride is designed as a scenic experience with open views of the sky and sea.
The return of the service is part of Dubai’s wider effort to expand tourism and leisure transport options. The city has increasingly promoted waterfront experiences as part of its broader visitor offering.
RTA said the service adds a new way for people to explore Dubai’s coastal attractions, especially during the cooler evening hours. Further additions to leisure transport services may follow as the emirate continues developing its tourism network.
