DOHA, Qatar — Old Doha Port is welcoming visitors this summer with a range of waterfront activities, family experiences and marine attractions as part of its seasonal “Let’s Summer at the Mina” campaign.
The initiative, which runs through Oct. 15, aims to encourage residents and tourists to explore the Mina District, marina and surrounding waterfront areas through leisure, dining and cultural activities.
One of the busiest areas during the season has been Al Chabrat, the port’s traditional fish market, where visitors can experience Qatar’s maritime culture and purchase fresh seafood from local catches during the fishing season.
Visitors can also move around the destination more easily through complimentary golf cart services connecting Mina Park and the Mina District. Access to roads within Mina District is available daily from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. until Oct. 15.
The summer programme includes a mix of recreational and community activities. In partnership with fitness studio Fit Island, weekly Pilates sessions are being held every Saturday at The Terminal’s City Gallery, offering participants an exercise experience overlooking the waterfront.
At Al Bandar, located near Chabrat Al Mina, children can participate in traditional maritime activities organised with the Nomas Center. The programmes include fishing lessons and pearl diving competitions designed to introduce younger generations to Qatar’s heritage.
The Containers Yard area continues to provide water-based entertainment, including speedboat rentals, jet car rides, wakeboarding, paddle boats, banana boat activities and e-foiling experiences.
Traditional fishing activities are also available at the Fishing Pontoons in Mina Park, located opposite Al Chabrat, adding another cultural element to the destination’s summer offerings.
Old Doha Port has also introduced visitor facilities to improve accessibility during the warmer months, including special summer valet parking rates and complimentary valet services at the fish market.
The seasonal campaign reflects the port’s wider role as a leisure and cultural destination, combining Qatar’s maritime heritage with modern waterfront experiences for residents and visitors.
