UAE users reported access problems on Facebook and Instagram on Sunday as outage complaints spiked across Meta platforms.
Downdetector showed a sharp rise in Facebook reports around noon, with most users citing website problems, followed by login failures and server connection errors.
Some Instagram users also reported disruptions, including app navigation issues, trouble loading their feeds and problems connecting to servers.
The outage was not limited to the UAE. Downdetector showed more than 4,700 Facebook-related reports globally and over 3,000 complaints for Instagram.
Users affected by the disruption said they were unable to open Facebook in a browser, while others reported intermittent problems with the Instagram app.
The scale of reports suggested a wider technical issue rather than an isolated local problem. Meta had not immediately provided a public explanation for the disruption
