SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates: Motorists using a road near Al Hazana should expect changes to traffic movement for six days as a section of a dual carriageway undergoes maintenance and infrastructure works.
The partial closure is scheduled to begin Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, and continue through Friday, Aug. 28.
The affected route runs in the direction from Saeed bin Obaid Al Jarwan Square to Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Bu Alian Square in the Al Hazana area.
Drivers advised to plan ahead
The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has advised motorists to use designated alternative routes during the closure and follow traffic diversions in the area.
Drivers travelling through Al Hazana should also pay attention to temporary signs and traffic instructions, particularly during busier periods when the closure could add time to journeys.
Allowing additional travel time may help commuters avoid delays, particularly for those travelling through the area as part of daily journeys across Sharjah.
Road works in Sharjah
The temporary restriction is part of road maintenance and infrastructure development works intended to support the efficiency of Sharjah’s road network and improve traffic movement.
Motorists are advised to check the route before setting out and use the approved diversions rather than attempting to pass through the closed section.
The closure is currently scheduled to end Friday, Aug. 28, after which normal traffic arrangements are expected to resume, subject to the progress of the works.
