MG Motor’s First Electric SUV MG Available in UAE

Dubai: MG Motor has confirmed that prices for the all-new MG ZS EV in the  United Arab Emirates will start from under AED 100,000 (excluding VAT).

A stylish, compact SUV, the MG ZS EV is based on the popular Middle East seller, the MG ZS, and is the first all-electric car from the British-born brand. Inclusive of a special introductory offer that is valid until 23 April 2020, prices start at AED 99,500 (excluding VAT), making it the perfect choice for UAE customers who have not previously experienced the joys of owning a new energy vehicle.

MG’s first pure electric SUV represents the ideal opportunity for environmentally-aware buyers to take their place among the region’s motoring trailblazers, and is already making waves in markets around the world.

In the UK, the brand’s country of birth, the MG ZS EV continues to outperform the company’s initial, ambitious objectives, selling 2,000 units in its first two months alone. In India, over 2,800 bookings were registered in just three weeks between 22 December 2019 and 12 January 2020. Now customers across the Middle East can enjoy the benefits of a zero emissions model for themselves.

The new MG ZS EV is a highly versatile vehicle, capable of travelling for 335km NEDC on a single battery charge and is equipped with fast charging which allows up to 80 per cent of the battery to be re-charged in just 40 minutes. Power is delivered by a single electric motor that drives the front wheels and delivers 148bhp and 350Nm of torque – accelerating it from 0 – 100 km/h in just 8.2 seconds.

The UAE’s infrastructure is well developed and ready to support the demand for new electric vehicles. For customers’ convenience, the ZS EV comes with a home charging kit compatible with any power  outlet at both home and office.

Tom Lee, Managing Director of MG Motor Middle East, said: “With the new MG ZS EV, we want to encourage new car owners to join us on a bright and exciting journey into the future, built around a sustainable lifestyle. We want to spread an important message about sustainability, emphasising that each one of us can really make a difference. This is why MG is launching its #StartSomewhere campaign, and why we are offering our first-ever 100% electric vehicle to customers at an extremely attractive entry price of under AED 100,000.”

Based on the popular 1.5L petrol version of the MG ZS SUV, the new electric model is the perfect option for buyers looking for a stylish, reliable car with an affordable price tag, while simultaneously positioning them at the forefront of cutting-edge, new energy technology. As befitting a MG, it is well-equipped with advanced infotainment system with 8” touch screen and parking sensors, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assistance, and a push start engine button.

Providing peace-of-mind in terms of safety, the five-star Euro NCAP-rated model is equipped as standard with ABS, EBD, EBA, hill assistance, auto hold, a tyre pressure monitoring system and six airbags. The range-topping LUX model adds further neat touches such as a rear camera with dynamic guidance lines, panoramic sunroof, electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, Warning system and 17” two-tone alloy wheels.

The new MG ZS EV is available for test drive and delivery from all the Al Yousuf Motors showrooms across the UAE.
