RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Arabia has warned expatriates that staying in the Kingdom after an entry visa expires can lead to fines of up to 50,000 riyals, jail time of up to six months and deportation.
The Interior Ministry said residents and visitors must follow the Kingdom’s immigration rules and report any violations related to residency, labor and border security. It urged the public to help authorities by flagging offenses through the correct emergency numbers.
Reports can be made by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and 999 in all other regions.
The warning comes as Saudi authorities continue a wider enforcement drive targeting immigration violations. Last week, the Interior Ministry said more than 15,000 people were arrested in a nationwide campaign aimed at residency, labor and border security offenses.
Officials have repeatedly said the Kingdom will keep enforcing its laws and that violators could face legal action. The message is especially relevant for expats across the Gulf, including those traveling to Saudi Arabia for work, family visits or short-term stays.
Authorities are expected to maintain the crackdown as part of broader efforts to tighten border control and ensure compliance with residency and visa regulations.
