DUBAI — Dubai Taxi Company PJSC has added 600 new taxi plates following an auction by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, expanding its fleet and increasing its market share to 47%.
The addition raises the company’s taxi fleet to 6,817 vehicles, up from 6,217. The new taxis will be introduced in phases starting in July.
Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, group CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, said the expansion reflects confidence in the growth of Dubai’s mobility sector.
“As demand for transport services rises alongside urban development, we are focused on scaling operations to meet customer needs while maintaining service quality,” he said.
He added that the phased rollout is aimed at optimizing asset use and supporting operational efficiency.
The expansion aligns with Dubai government plans to develop a more integrated and efficient transport network and supports broader economic goals under the Dubai Economic Agenda.
Dubai Taxi Company was established in 1994 and became a public joint stock company under Law No. 21 of 2023. It operates more than 11,000 vehicles across taxis, limousines, buses and delivery bikes, and is the largest taxi operator in Dubai by fleet size.
