ABU DHABI- Four Arab women scientists, including an Emirati, are to be awarded the L’Oreal-UNESCO Pan Arab Regional Fellowship Award, a scholarship worth 20,000 Euros, in recognition of their contributions to the advancement of science.
This comes as a result of Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation and President of Zayed University, signing a Memorandum of Understanding today(May 27th) with L’Oreal Middle East marking their joint cooperation on the programme.
The initiative aims to empower Arab women scientists and highlight their contributions to the world of science, acknowledging their key role in the development of the region.
Countries of the GCC and Yemen are included in this year’s scholarship programme.-WAM
