DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The DEWA Youth Council has hosted an awareness workshop for schoolchildren as part of Summer Camp 2026, using hands-on activities to teach young participants about sustainability.
The session, titled Electricity and Water Heroes, brought together children ages 5 to 15 from Al Khawaneej and Al Barsha. It was organized during the fourth edition of the summer camp, held with Ferjan Dubai and Al-Ameen Service.
The workshop focused on saving electricity and water, reducing waste and protecting the environment. Organizers said the goal was to help children build responsible habits early, both at home and in school.
The program was designed to be interactive and easy to follow, giving students practical tips they can use in daily life. It also encouraged them to think about how small changes can support wider community efforts.
Aysha Mohammad Alremeithi, president of the DEWA Youth Council, said the initiative supports social responsibility efforts and helps prepare a more aware generation for future climate challenges.
She said the workshop also gives young people a productive way to spend their summer break while learning values such as teamwork and responsibility.
The session comes as Dubai and the wider UAE continue to promote environmental awareness among families and children. Further youth-focused community programs are expected during the summer season.
