MBRU Earns Continuing Medical Education Accreditation

DUBAI – Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), the academic and research arm of Dubai Health, has been designated an Accredited Provider by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), marking a significant milestone in its commitment to advancing lifelong learning in healthcare.

The accreditation places MBRU among a select group of international institutions that meet the ACCME’s globally recognized standards for educational quality in continuing medical education.

As an accredited provider, MBRU is now authorized to independently award AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, the internationally recognized benchmark for accredited continuing medical education. These credits are accepted in more than 40 countries and are recognized for European Continuing Medical Education Credits (ECMEC®). Healthcare professionals across Dubai Health will be able to earn internationally accredited CME credits through MBRU’s educational programmes, courses and workshops.

Dr. Hanan Alsuwaidi, Deputy CEO and Chief Academic Officer of Dubai Health and Provost of MBRU, said: “At Dubai Health, we are building a workforce that is committed to continuous learning and equipped to respond to the evolving needs of our health system. This accreditation strengthens our integrated academic health system and enhances our ability to deliver structured, practice-relevant education across our clinical environment, ensuring our physicians continue to provide safe, high-quality care now and in the future.”

Dr. Dima Abdelmannan, Director of New Programs and Accreditation at MBRU, said: “Achieving ACCME accreditation affirms MBRU’s ability to deliver high-quality, independent medical education that meets the highest international standards. It also creates new opportunities to collaborate with healthcare institutions in developing and delivering jointly accredited educational programmes that align with global quality benchmarks.”

Professor Nabil Zary, Senior Director of the Institute of Learning at MBRU, said: “This accreditation marks an important milestone in MBRU’s evolution as a university that supports not only the education of future healthcare professionals but also the ongoing development of those already in practice. Our ambition is to establish MBRU as a regional center of excellence for lifelong professional development, and ACCME accreditation provides the international framework to help us achieve that vision.”
