Flying From the UAE Today? Latest Airline Cancellations and Delays

Passengers travelling from the UAE on Wednesday, July 30, are being advised to confirm their flight status before heading to the airport after several airlines cancelled or adjusted regional services amid continuing security concerns across parts of the Middle East.

While Dubai International Airport, Zayed International Airport and other UAE airports remain fully operational, a number of flights to destinations across the Gulf have been affected as airlines continue to review regional airspace and operational requirements.

The latest disruptions come as military tensions between the United States and Iran continue to influence aviation operations, prompting carriers to reroute aircraft or suspend selected services where necessary.

Latest UAE airline cancellations

Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways has cancelled services between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain because of operational reasons. Flights between Abu Dhabi and Kuwait have also been suspended until further notice.

Separately, the airline confirmed that flight EY047 from Abu Dhabi to Dublin returned shortly after departure on July 29 due to a technical issue. Passengers later continued their journey on a replacement aircraft.

Passengers are encouraged to monitor their bookings through the official Etihad Airways website or mobile app.

flydubai

flydubai has cancelled the following flights:

  • FZ815 Dubai–Abha
  • FZ811 Dubai–Abha

Customers affected by the changes should review their booking status online before travelling.

Air Arabia

Air Arabia has suspended several services from Sharjah, including:

  • G9124 Sharjah–Kuwait
  • G9068 Sharjah–Kuwait
  • G9107 Sharjah–Bahrain
  • G9195 Sharjah–Abha

The airline continues to advise passengers to verify departure times before arriving at the airport.

Gulf Air

Gulf Air has also cancelled several Bahrain services, including flights operating between Dubai and Bahrain in both directions.

Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways continues to suspend passenger services to Bahrain, Erbil and Kuwait through July 31, according to the airline’s latest operational update.

Saudia

Saudia said schedule changes and cancellations have been updated in its reservation system through the end of October, allowing passengers to review the latest information before travelling.

International airlines continue adjusting schedules

Several international carriers have also extended service suspensions to destinations across the Gulf.

Among the airlines maintaining route suspensions are British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, ITA Airways, Lufthansa, Swiss, KLM, Aegean Airlines, Air Astana, Philippine Airlines and Wizz Air.

Meanwhile, Turkish Airlines has resumed flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi but continues to suspend operations to Iran.

Why some flights are taking longer

Although most UAE flights continue to operate, airlines are avoiding certain areas of regional airspace as a precaution.

Passengers may experience:

  • Longer flight times because of alternative routing.
  • Last-minute schedule changes.
  • Extended transit times.
  • Delays in baggage delivery on some international connections.

Travel advisories remain in place

Several governments continue to advise travellers to remain alert as the regional security situation evolves.

Authorities in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia have warned citizens to monitor airline notifications and prepare for possible disruptions, while the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has maintained conflict-zone guidance covering parts of Gulf airspace through the end of August.

What travellers should do

Passengers flying from the UAE are advised to:

  • Check flight status before leaving for the airport.
  • Monitor their airline’s official website or mobile app for updates.
  • Ensure contact information linked to their booking is current.
  • Allow additional travel time in case of operational changes.
  • Follow official travel advisories issued by their home country’s authorities when travelling internationally.

For the latest updates, travelers should monitor the official websites of Etihad Airways, flydubai, Air Arabia, Qatar Airways, Dubai Airports (https://www.dubaiairports.ae), Abu Dhabi Airports (https://www.zayedinternationalairport.ae) and EASA (https://www.easa.europa.eu), as airline schedules may change at short notice.
