DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Flights from Dubai and Sharjah to Abha were canceled Tuesday after an attack on Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia disrupted air services in the region.
Flydubai said two flights from Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 2 to Abha, scheduled for 10:25 a.m. and 4:05 p.m., were canceled. Return flights from Abha to Dubai were also affected.
Flight data showed that Flydubai services FZ815, due to depart Abha at 12:15 p.m., and FZ811, scheduled for 5:55 p.m., were among the canceled flights.
Air Arabia also canceled its Abha to Sharjah service, flight G9195, which had been scheduled to leave at 2:25 p.m.
The disruptions came after Yemen’s Houthis launched missiles and drones at Abha airport late Monday, following strikes on Sanaa International Airport in Yemen. No casualties were reported.
Flight tracking data showed at least 10 departures from Abha were canceled on Tuesday between late morning and evening. Those included Saudia flights to Riyadh and Jeddah, as well as flyadeal services to Jeddah.
Travelers flying between the UAE and southwest Saudi Arabia were advised to check airline updates and airport notices for service changes.
