AL ARISH, Egypt — The UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish has fitted prosthetic limbs for 64 Palestinian amputees since launching the “Step of Hope” programme under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3.
According to the state news agency WAM, the programme provides an integrated range of medical and rehabilitation services, including medical assessments, prosthetic limb production and fitting, physiotherapy, physical rehabilitation and ongoing medical follow-up. It aims to help beneficiaries adapt to their prostheses, regain mobility and resume their daily activities.
Treatment and rehabilitation plans are continuing, with specialised medical teams providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions tailored to each beneficiary’s health condition. The programmes are designed to achieve optimal treatment outcomes and support faster recovery.
The initiative is supported by six UAE humanitarian organisations and entities: the International Charity Organisation, Sharjah Charity International, The Big Heart Foundation, Dar Al Ber Society, Zayed Authority for People of Determination and the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an.
The “Step of Hope” programme reflects the UAE’s coordinated humanitarian approach and its ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian people and alleviate their suffering.
