Bangladesh Embassy Responds to Reports of UAE Visa Cancellations

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — The Embassy of Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi says it is investigating reports from Bangladeshi nationals who claim their UAE residency visas were cancelled while they were outside the Emirates, urging the community to avoid speculation until official information is available.

In an advisory issued this week, the embassy said it had received complaints from expatriates currently overseas for holidays and other travel who discovered that their UAE residency visas had reportedly been cancelled without an immediately stated reason.

According to the mission, officials are working through diplomatic channels with the relevant UAE authorities to determine whether the reported cancellations resulted from a technical issue or another administrative reason.

The embassy said Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment are also monitoring the situation closely as efforts continue to establish the facts.

Officials acknowledged that the reports have caused concern among members of the Bangladeshi community living and working in the UAE but emphasized that no confirmed explanation has yet been provided.

Embassy warns against misinformation

The diplomatic mission also cautioned expatriates against sharing unverified claims circulating on social media.

According to the embassy, fraudulent posts have appeared online using government logos, official emblems, the national flag and even the embassy’s email identity to spread misleading information.

Bangladeshi nationals have been urged to rely exclusively on announcements published through the embassy’s verified communication channels and to comply with the laws and regulations of both the UAE and Bangladesh.

Residents seeking updates can monitor the official websites of the Embassy of Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

UAE and Bangladesh continue strengthening ties

The advisory comes as the UAE and Bangladesh continue expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

Separately, the UAE Embassy in Bangladesh announced that UAE Ambassador Abdulla Ali AlHmoudi recently met Bangladesh’s Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Iqbal Hassan Mahmood, and State Minister Aninda Islam Amit in Dhaka.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in areas including energy, trade and investment, reflecting the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.

For now, the Bangladesh Embassy says it will continue coordinating with the relevant authorities and will issue further updates as soon as verified information becomes available.
