DUBAI-  Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded a AED 65 million contract for a project that increases the reliability of its water networks in different parts of Dubai. The project involves the supply, installation and commissioning of surge protection devices for DEWA’s pumping station in areas such as Jebel Ali, Mushrif, and Hatta.

These efforts further establish Dubai as a global hub for trade, finance and tourism by providing a reliable infrastructure that meets development criteria. The projects support DEWA’s strategic plan to increase the efficiency and reliability of its water supply networks.

“DEWA seeks to increase the productivity, operational efficiency and reliability of its water supply networks in all parts of Dubai as part of its efforts to advance sustainable development. The project assures the provision of uninterrupted water supply to support the current and future development needs of Dubai,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

The project supports DEWA’s strategic plan to raise the efficiency and reliability of its water networks. It is one of the various development projects to raise efficiency and operational capacity of its water supply networks. The work should be completed by June 2016.
