SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates: Sharjah Police say they recovered nearly Dh500,000 worth of stolen valuables and arrested burglary suspects within three hours of receiving a report about a break-in at a residence, highlighting the force’s rapid response and investigative capabilities.
According to Sharjah Police, the burglary took place while the homeowner, an athlete, was outside the UAE attending a training camp. The incident occurred at a residential property in the emirate, prompting an immediate response from officers.
Specialists from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) were dispatched to the scene, where forensic teams examined the property while investigators gathered evidence and pursued multiple leads simultaneously.
Police said the investigation quickly identified the suspects, leading to their arrest and the recovery of all reported stolen items. The recovered valuables were estimated to be worth approximately Dh500,000.
Authorities said the operation reflects their ongoing commitment to protecting residents and safeguarding property, including when homeowners are travelling abroad.
Sharjah Police also reminded residents to take precautionary measures before leaving the country, including locking all doors and windows, using surveillance cameras or alarm systems where available, and avoiding posting travel plans or extended absences on social media.
Officials noted that adopting basic security measures can help reduce the risk of burglary and support broader community safety efforts across the emirate.
