Bahraini-Filipino ties hailed

MANAMA- Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa hailed the humanitarian initiatives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, directing to implement developmental projects in the friendly Republic of the Philippines.

360_1095This was stated during HH Shaikh Nasser’s reception of the Head of the Red Cross Committee in the Philippines Mr. Richard Gordon, in the presence of the Minister of Health HE Sadiq Al Shehabi, Secretary General of RCO Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed and Philippines Ambassador to Bahrain, Sahid S. Glang.

HH Shaikh Nasser stated that the wise leadership is keen on supporting the organisation in aiding the stricken areas in the Philippines following the strike of Typhoon Hayan, as well as contributing in the reconstruction of the country.

On his art, Mr. Gordon praised the supporting stances of HM the King and appreciated the exceptional bilateral ties between the Kingdom and the Philippines. He also hailed HH Shaikh Nasser, being a spearhead in the fields of charity work and assisting the stricken people in countries across the world.

Concluding, Mr. Gordon stated that his visit comes to express the gratitude from the people of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Bahrain, highlighting the two vocational training centres and the 500-unit residential complex built by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Philippines during the typhoon crisis. -BNA
