UAE’s bullish natural and organic skincare segment to touch US$ 100 million sales by 2016

DUBAI-  Al Hikma FZCO, a Dubai-based company specializing in international import, export, distribution and promotion of premium skincare solutions and health products, has projected that the natural and organic skincare segment of the UAE skincare market would reach US$ 100 million by 2016.

“Globally, the natural and organic skincare segment forms 25 percent of the entire skincare industry, however, it is almost 40 percent in the UAE due to a discerning clientele and significant purchasing power,” pointed out Dr Ali. F. Abdulqader, Managing Director, Al Hikma FZCO.

“The fact that the average of customers opting for organic and natural skincare products in the UAE is 15 percent higher than the global average speaks volumes for UAE customers’ stress on quality in health matters. They are ready to pay a premium to get a quality product that would benefit their skin significantly,” he added.

Al Hikma FZCO distributes natural health products, cosmeceuticals, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, hospital supplies, medical health care devices and self-diagnostic devices. The company sees great potential in the UAE market, backed by high purchasing power of customers who really value getting a natural product against chemically made products, pointed out Dr. Abdulqader.

Al Hikma FZCO markets and promotes health products in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, Canada and Australia through a highly qualified team of pharmacists and doctors through medical bureaus and drug stores, distributed all over these territories.

Dr. Abdulqader added: “Maintaining quality in health products poses a great challenge to pharmaceutical as well as nutraceutical industries globally. We are committed to overcome this challenge by introducing quality based products that are organic and recognized for helping the wellbeing of humans.”

The core of Al Hikma’s belief is “Good health” covering the local and international markets’ demand for premium health and medical products. The company represents Vitia Floris skincare treatment that enhances natural beauty with a luxury approach which is true to nature and leaves all beautifying elements of the skin intact.

It is also the distributor of Vinoderm, a well-known Swiss brand developed by Skin Concept Ltd. Laboratory.

Ratiba Ayad, Brand Manager, Al Hikma says: “All Vinoderm products are based on Pinot Noir, where high-quality red grape grow at the canton of Valais, at the bottom of the Swiss Alps. Particular complexes of ingredients individually combined for each product make Vinoderm exclusive in its properties and structure.”

TOITBEL, selected baby products dedicated to protecting and nurturing baby’s delicate skin, is another brand represented by Al Hikma in the UAE, in addition to SWISSCODE, an innovative skin care line catering to the international market.

Ayad added: “SWISSCODE applies the latest scientific findings to quickly and directly implement them in the form of ‘premium skincare line”. Our Swiss products, developed according to stringent quality criteria, tend to the skin’s individual needs, and help achieve visible results.”

SWISSCODE pure products stand for highly concentrated, active substances in their purest form. All products are quickly absorbed and pleasantly cooling, granting the skin to breathe freely.

Dr. Abdulqader said: “The major driver of skincare industry is the rising demand for natural and organic skincare products. Growing concern for health and safety are spurring the demand for organic and natural skin care products in the UAE.”
