U.A.E. Rowing Championships starts tomorrow

ABU DHABI- The U.A.E. Rowing Championships is to commence its 5th and final tournament of the season tomorrow(May 8th).

The competition, which is organised by the Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club in cooperation with the U.A.E. Sailing and Rowing Federation, has attracted 60 competitors from six clubs across the country, including Al Hamriyah Sports and Cultural Club, Ras Al-Khaimah International Marine Sports Club, Fujairah International Marine Club, Dubai Rowing Club, Monty’s Rowing School and the tournament host, the Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club. The event will take place on the Abu Dhabi Corniche.

Ahmed Thani Murshid Al Romaithi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club, said that the competition aims to present talented national cadres who carry a hopeful Olympic promise.

He added that the club’s strategy aims to strengthen and promote water sports in the country and involve them in international achievements. 

Mr. Al Romaithi also noted that rowing in the U.A.E. is witnessing remarkable improvement and development in the international arena.-WAM
