Sharjah Ruler opens photography exhibition

SHARJAH – His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah opened the international contemporary photography exhibition at the Sharjah Art Museum on Wednesday(May 21st).

Sheikh Sultan toured the exhibition which displays works by 30 photography artists from 26 countries including the UAE. The exhibition’s theme “The Other and Me” reflects reception of other cultures to the depiction of Islamic culture in the visual arts.

The exhibition is open until 21st June and is being organised by the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information. It is curated by Colin G. Reaney and Jassim Al Awadhi.-WAM
