Ramadan Forum brings Iftar experience to non-Muslims in Dubai

Image 2DUBAI- The ongoing Ramadan Forum in Dubai is offering a unique opportunity for members of various religious faiths to join the festivities of the Holy Month by organizing exclusive Iftar meals for non-Muslims.

Scores of residents and visitors attended the first free Iftar meal hosted for non-Muslims at Al Multaqa Hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Thursday evening. The Iftar enabled guests to get a closer look at Islam and familiarize themselves with the rituals of the Holy Month.

At the Iftar, Arshad Khan, Supervisor for Non-Arabic Programs Committee for the Ramadan Forum, gave a brief presentation where he introduced the meaning of Islam as well as its basic beliefs and practices, while seeking to clear common misconceptions pertaining to the religion.  He also addressed the gathering about the benefits of fasting during the holy month.

A quiz was conducted during the occasion, with valuable prizes given away to the winners.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation. The 12-day forum will run until July 14, 2014 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), offering an enhanced and bigger agenda of activities and events this year including educational programs, training workshops and more.
