SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates — The Sharjah International Book Fair will return for its 45th edition from Nov. 4 to 15 at Expo Centre Sharjah, with Oman named as Guest of Honour.
The Sharjah Book Authority has opened exhibitor registration for publishers from the UAE, the region and around the world through its online platform. Organizers expect another large international turnout for the 12-day event, which draws readers, authors, translators and cultural figures from many countries.
The fair is one of the largest literary gatherings in the region and is expected to again turn Sharjah into a meeting point for publishing, ideas and cultural exchange. This year’s program will include author sessions, literary discussions, workshops, children’s activities and events for industry professionals.
Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority, said the fair reflects Sharjah’s long-term commitment to putting books at the center of daily life while promoting Arab culture internationally.
Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, chief executive of the Sharjah Book Authority, said the event has grown into a major cultural platform that brings together readers, writers, publishers, librarians and creative professionals.
He said the fair has moved beyond the traditional concept of a book exhibition and now serves as a global hub for reading, publishing and the creative industries.
This year’s Guest of Honour program will spotlight Oman’s literary, artistic and intellectual heritage. Visitors will be able to meet Omani writers and creatives as part of a program designed to deepen cultural dialogue across the Arab world.
Organizers said the 45th edition will also feature content for publishers, translators and librarians, along with poetry evenings, book signings and activities for children and young adults.
With registration now open, preparations are under way for what is expected to be one of the region’s most closely watched cultural events this year.
