Egyptian man arrested over double murder in Kuwait

DUBAI, UAE — Kuwaiti authorities have arrested an Egyptian man wanted in connection with the deaths of two expatriate residents in the Kabd area of Jahra Governorate, the Interior Ministry said Monday.

The arrest followed an investigation into a deadly attack at a farm chalet in the area.

Police responding to reports of an assault found two residents dead from stab wounds, while two other people were injured, according to the ministry.

Suspect tracked toward border

Investigators began working to establish what happened and identify those responsible. A weapon believed to have been used in the attack was also recovered near the scene, authorities said.

Detectives subsequently identified the suspect through evidence collected during the investigation and coordinated with Kuwait’s General Department of Border Security to locate him.

Authorities traced him to the Ritqa area, near Kuwait’s border.

The suspect was later detained after security personnel reportedly spotted him attempting to cross the border fence.

Legal proceedings to follow

The Interior Ministry said the arrested man was handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action.

Authorities have not disclosed further details about the victims, the circumstances that led to the attack or a possible motive.

The investigation remains ongoing as the case proceeds through Kuwait’s legal system.
