Dubai is ‘United in Celebration’ for ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Fitr’
DUBAI- With ‘Ramadan in Dubai’ enjoying yet another successful run this year, residents and visitors from around the world can look forward to a fresh feast of entertainment and exciting shopping options at the ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Fitr’ celebrations that are now all set to dawn upon Dubai.
Numerous malls, stores and countless outlets in the souqs that are spread throughout the city, as well as popular leisure and entertainment hotspots are gearing up to welcome residents and visitors of all ages and nationalities during the seventh edition of ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Fitr’ celebrations.
This year, the wide array of events during the ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Fitr’ celebrations include many that are action-packed and one-of-a-kind, with the summer entertainment agenda packed with highly anticipated attractions, including world premieres of the Angry Birds Universe Interactive Experience at Modhesh World, The Decepticon Clone TRANSFORMERS live show at BurJuman and the Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, in addition to a lively calendar of not-to-be-missed musical shows and family-oriented events.
Spectacular fireworks
One of the highlights of the much-awaited ‘Eid in Dubai’celebrations will be the spectacular shower of fireworks that will paint the Dubai night sky in full glory. Organized by world-renowned experts, the pyrotechnics display will be set off at 9pm at Dubai Creek (Al Seef Street) during all three days of Eid.
‘Eid in Dubai’ celebrations at Modhesh World
Those looking to give their kids a fun-filled treat they will remember forever, can head to Modhesh World to enjoy the World Premiere of Angry Birds Universe Interactive Experience in addition to the TRANSFORMERS Interactive Experience – set to kick off from the first day of Eid until 8 September at the region’s popular edutainment destination. With the launch of the Angry Birds Universe Interactive Experience, visitors and residents in Dubai are sure to enjoy a novel interactive experience brought to life through a number of games and hands-on activities encompassing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) streams.
The TRANSFORMERS Interactive Experience gives the fans of the popular Autobots a rare opportunity to immerse in a unique zone to test their hand-eye co-ordination, fine motor and spatial skills and problem solving capabilities and logic.
Modhesh World will also be hosting the Hello Kitty and Friends Around The World experience, offering fans of the most popular cat in the world the chance to visit the leading cities of the world, including Dubai, London, Tokyo, Moscow and Paris in the interactive zone offering fun workshops such as arts and crafts face painting and fashion.
Children and adults alike have a chance to enjoy wrestling mania at the WWE Interactive Experience at Modhesh World Children (above nine years) can participate in five experiences, none of which has body contact, including Super Strike, which allow participants to play with toys and have their photos taken with a life-sized cut-out. Other activities too give children the chance to have their photos taken as mementoes.
In addition, other fun activities for all ages including rides such as Carousel, Chair-O-Plane and Crazy Wave – as well as kiddie bungee jumping, bouncy castle-type inflatables, and arcade and video games await guests at Modhesh World. Visitors can also learn more about Emirati culture and traditions at the Heritage Zone. Besides, Eid and summer shopping has become even more exciting, thanks to a promotion that is running across ‘Eid in Dubai’ and Dubai Summer Surprises, offering shoppers spending AED 200 at a participating mall the opportunity to win prizes up to AED 4 million in prizes.
The second leg of the campaign commenced on 15 July and will run until the last day of Eid. Audiences will see Hello Kitty and her friends unfold a magical story full of fun and laughter, with bright costumes and fabulous music and dancing. The Dubai Mall will host three shows daily, each of 25 minutes duration.
World Premiere of The Decepticon Clone TRANSFORMERS Show
31 July – 9 August, BurJuman
The World Premiere of The Decepticon Clone TRANSFORMERS show will see the arrival for the very first time in the UAE of the Autobots and their nemesis Megatron. The three daily shows, each of 20 minutes duration, brings to life three, iconic Cybertronians – Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumble Bee. Later, children will get the opportunity to meet their favourite characters during a Meet & Greet session. Almost eight feet tall, the robots are set to enthral audiences with an entertaining burst of sci-fi action and special effects on a soaring stage exclusively constructed for the Cybertronians. The TRANSFORMERS show coincides with the Eid release in the UAE of the final movie instalment, TRANSFORMERS 4.

Eid Mubarak – Salim Sulaiman Live in Concert

Free Summer Camps

These summer camps are organised in association with DFRE and Knowledge and Human Development Authority and Ministry of Education, Dubai Educational Zone. Some 100,000 registration forms have been distributed across more than 100 schools. Kids between the ages of 3 and 16 can participate for free with each participant getting one session free at any or all of the venues. A special ‘Eid in Dubai’ Kids camp will be held at Dubai Outlet Mall from 28 July – 2 August from 10am to 10pm.
