Coastguard Week launched in Bahrain

MANAMA- The second Border and Coastguards Week is being held under the slogan Martime and Land Environment Safety. Coastguard Commandant Brigadier Alaa Abdulla Siadi stressed the importance of the event in promoting environment awareness to protect human lives and marine resources.

Scheduled to conclude tomorrow (May10), the week-long event features a string of activities which are being held at Al-Jazair Beach, Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) coast in the Dry Dock, Muharraq, in addition to Amwaj Islands. 

Brigadier Alaa Abdulla Siadi described the event as an opportunity to exchange information and expertise with the coastguards in other GCC members states. He commended Interior Ministry directorates, Government departments and private sector for their efforts and cooperation to ensure the success of the Coastguard Week.-BNA
