DOHA – HE President of Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani crowned Al Sadd SC as champions of the 34th GCC club Basketball Championship which was concluded at the QWSC Indoor in Doha on Monday(May 19th).
The victory ceremony came after Qatar’s Al Sadd made a convincing 79-70 win over rivals Al Wasl of United Arab Emirates in the final match of the prestigious event held at Aspire Zone on Monday.
Monday’s victory braced Al Sadd squad to retain their GCC Club Basketball title for the second consecutive year, followed their widely- praised performance.
In another clash for the third and fourth places, Kuwait of Kuwait thrashed Al Ahli of United Arab Emirates to manage in the third place overall.
In a post-event release on Monday, HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani congratulated Al Sadd SC board, team and fans on this glorious victory, he also appreciated the high level performance and skills shown by both finalists Al Sadd and Al Wasl.-QNA
