Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque to host Ramadan reciters

DUBAI – Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque and Centre in Dubai will host well-known reciters to lead the Tarweeh and Tahajjud prayers during the Holy month of Ramadan.

The Ramadan recital itinerary will be as follows:

1-4 Ramadan: His Highness Sheikh Abd El Wali Al Arkani,Imam of the King Abdullah Mosque in Jedda

5-9 Ramadan:Sheikh Dr. Fares Al Mustafa,Imam of Al Farooq Mosque Omar Bin Al Khattab

 10-12 Ramadan:Sheikh Saad Said El Ghamedi,Former Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina

 13-18 Ramadan:Sheikh Saleh Mohammad Al Ansar,Imam of the Seif Mosque in Mecca

19-23 Ramadan:Sheikh Abd El Majid Al Arkani,Imam of the Al-Khodr Mosque in Jeddah

 24-25 Ramadan:Sheikh Dr. Fares Al Mustafa

26-end of Ramadan:Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Abdallah Ghilan,Imam of Al Nakheel Mosque and reciter in the Prophet’s Mosque

In addition to the recitals by the well-known Imam’s, the Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque and Center will also host a series of extra activities, organised through the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation, which is based at the Mosque.  These will include Quran memorisation sessions for children, as well as daily religious lectures provided by Sheikh Dr. Fares Al Mustafa after the Asr prayer. There will also be lectures on the virtues of Ramadan available for non-Arabic speakers.

???????????????????????????????????As part of the Mosque’s Iftaar project, which is organised annually, there will be some 1,000 fasting worshippers welcomed daily over the Holy Month to share Iftaar in air-conditioned tents set up in the courtyard.

An Iftaar program has also been specially designed for non-Muslims in order to familiarise them with the traditions and customs over Ramadan, as well as the faith aspects practiced during the Holy month.

The Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque and Centre will also be distributing a fasting calendar and guideline supplement along with a CD of the Holy Quran recitations by the Imams of the Mosque.

The Al Farooq Mosque, which has been acknowledged as one of the UAE’s ‘most beautiful mosques’ can accommodate more than 2,000 worshippers. However, a large air-conditioned tent with loud speakers has been set up to accommodate additional worshippers. The Mosque expects to receive more than 100,000 worshippers during the Holy Month.
