Ajman builds new airport and two ports

AJMAN- Ajman is allocating 40% of its 2014 budget to increase work on new development, economic and social projects, that aim to boost tourism in the emirate.

In an exclusive interview with Al Khaleej, an Arabic daily newspaper, H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, said that the plan is part of Ajman’s 2021 strategy, which expects a greater influx of tourists in the emirate in the future.

The plans follow a directive from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to enable projects that will increase the number of airports and ports in the U.A.E., and enhance the country’s development.

Work on Ajman International Airport in the Al Manama district is now being intensified, as is work on two new ports.

A sewage plant is also being constructed, also part of infrastructural development in the U.A.E., and the first phase of the plant has already been completed, said Al Nuaimi.

The state-of-the-art plant will incorporate a three-way treatment of sewage and 22 pumping stations, utilising a network of pipes that extends over 275 kilometres, serving some 127,000 houses in the emirate.-WAM
