DOHA, Qatar — Qatar’s air-conditioned parks are emerging as one of the country’s most popular summer escape routes for residents who want to stay active without giving up outdoor exercise.
The cooled walking and running tracks, designed with advanced air-conditioning systems, allow visitors to continue exercising even in the peak of summer. The facilities have quickly become regular destinations for walkers, joggers, families and training groups.
Rawdat Al Hamama Park stands out with the country’s longest air-conditioned track, stretching about 1.2 kilometers. Other major sites include Al Gharrafa Park, which has a cooled walkway of 657 meters, and Umm Al Seneem Park, where the track runs for roughly 1.143 kilometers.
Oxygen Park is also drawing fitness-minded visitors with its cooled pathways and open-air layout. Many users said the parks let them maintain their routines without having to cancel workouts because of the heat.
The tracks are marked with distance indicators, making them useful for walking, jogging and structured training sessions. The parks also offer a more relaxed setting for people who want to exercise while still enjoying an outdoor atmosphere.
Sports academies and organized training groups have increasingly used the parks to keep programs going through the hottest months. Coaches and participants say the facilities make year-round training possible in conditions that would otherwise be too harsh.
Beyond the tracks, the parks are equipped with drinking water stations, prayer areas, ablution facilities, outdoor gym equipment, sports gear and kiosks. Families also benefit from shaded seating, playgrounds and cycling paths.
The combination of cooling technology and leisure amenities has turned the parks into all-day destinations rather than seasonal ones. Further use is expected to grow as more residents look for active, family-friendly spaces during the summer.
