Jun’s Launches New Summer Menu Celebrating Third Culture Cooking

Dubai, UAE – July 2025 – Jun’s, the award-winning Downtown Dubai restaurant led by Chef Kelvin Cheung, has expanded its menu with a curated selection of new summer dishes. Each item reflects Cheung’s signature “Third Culture” cooking—blending regional influences, personal memories, and global techniques into bold, flavorful creations.

The new menu refresh is rooted in Chef Cheung’s culinary journey, inspired by his childhood, travels, and diverse professional experiences across continents. It also emphasizes inclusivity, offering multiple allergen-friendly, gluten-free, and vegetarian options.

Among the standout additions:

  • Umami Koji Tomato Burrata: A summer-forward vegetarian dish highlighting koji-fermented, lacto-fermented, and dehydrated tomatoes served with basil oil and tomato jus.

  • Dibba Bay #2 Oysters: A fermentation-focused reimagining of Bangkok’s iconic seafood sauce, using local chilies and aromatics.

  • Street Shu Mai: A nostalgic take on Hong Kong street dumplings, featuring chicken and prawn shumai over sticky rice with hoisin-chili crunch and a touch of tahini.

  • Sansho Pepper Edamame: A citrusy, refreshing small plate created after Chef Cheung’s recent culinary exchange in Japan.

  • Slow-Cooked Lamb Curry: A soulful tribute to a Kerala toddy shop meal, made with baby lamb shoulder, house masala, caramelized burnt coconut, soy pickles, and fresh herbs.

  • Lamb Chops: Tender Australian lamb chops pan-seared in brown butter, paired with charred olive salad and Palestinian sumac vinaigrette.

  • Bolognese Tteokbokki and Paprika Chicken: Bold new options merging comfort food with unexpected flavor combinations.

Gluten-free highlights include Koji Sambal Prawns, Karaage 2.0 served with cornbread waffles, and Frozen Yogurt with Hatta Honey, available with optional chili oil for a spicy-sweet twist.

Each dish on the menu tells a story—from Chef Cheung’s childhood winters in Hong Kong to his career-defining travels through India, Japan, and the Middle East—resulting in a menu that’s both globally inspired and deeply personal.

The refreshed menu is now available at Jun’s, located in Downtown Dubai.
