ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a delegation from the UAE Pilgrims Affairs Office on Friday and reviewed plans to support Emirati pilgrims during this year’s Hajj season.
Officials briefed the president on the office’s programs and initiatives designed to oversee pilgrims’ needs and ensure they receive care throughout their journey. The discussion also covered future steps to improve services and streamline arrangements for UAE pilgrims.
Sheikh Mohamed praised the work of the office and its affiliated committees, saying their efforts help pilgrims perform Hajj with comfort and peace of mind. He said supporting pilgrims from arrival at the Holy Sites until their safe return home remains a national priority.
Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat and head of the UAE Pilgrims Affairs Office, thanked the president for his continued support. He said the leadership’s guidance has strengthened the office’s ability to serve pilgrims and improve coordination across institutions.
The meeting was attended by senior UAE figures, including Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and other officials.
The UAE has long placed emphasis on organizing Hajj services for its citizens, with a focus on logistics, welfare and coordination with relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia. Further preparations for the season are expected to continue as pilgrim support teams finalize arrangements.
