Get quizzed on DSS and win fabulous prizes at Mercato

DUBAI- Shoppers in Dubai can prepare to put their knowledge of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) to the test at Mercato to win amazing shopping vouchers and the opportunity to be a part of one of the seven episodes of the exciting ‘Win with DSS’ competition to be broadcast live on Sama Dubai TV.

Organized as part of the 17th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), the fun contest is offering visitors and residents from around the world heaps of surprises in the form of incredible prizes being given away to shoppers at two popular malls in the city including Ibn Battuta Mall and Mercato.

DB3E1609The first leg of the competition at the Ibn Battuta Mall concluded on 16 August. As part of the contest, 400 winners won shopping vouchers worth AED 120,000 in total as seen on the eight episodes of the competition aired live on Sama Dubai TV.

The elated winners were left completely thrilled as they bagged fantastic shopping vouchers offered by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and other retailers at the mall, including La Moda, Grand Stores, Malati Bazari, vOg / Hair Fixing, Zest restaurant, Wojooh, Fitness First, Bare Salon, Damas, Paris Gallery, Yas Perfumes, Royal Diwan, Al Jaber Optical and Dubai Optical.

Now in its second leg, the competition has moved to Mercato, located on Jumeirah Beach Road, to surprise shoppers at the mall with another set of instant shopping vouchers, offered by the DFRE and popular retail outlets at the mall including, Damas, Fun City, Nayomi, Mamas and Papas, Gap, Patchi, Crocs, Virgin Megastore, Pastels Salon, Spinneys, iSTYLE, Birkenstock, Nine West and The Nail Spa.

During the on-going DSS extravaganza at the shopping centre, mall-goers have the chance to win big through two different ways. They can either participate on stage or can watch out for the Sama Dubai TV’s camera that will spot shoppers at random and quiz them on simple questions about DSS and Mercato.

Further, families also have the opportunity to team up with their friends, relatives and children to participate in other fun activities such as drawing and cupcake-making.

The competition will run at Mercato on 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 August and 4 September, 2014 from 6pm to 7pm.

The 17th edition of DSS is organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and organizers of DSS, which runs until 5 September, under the theme, “The Fun Side of Summer.”
