Fruit giant Unifrutti cuts data recovery time with Veeam tech

DUBAI, Jan 26, 2026 (GDM) – Global fruit producer Unifrutti Group said Monday it has achieved near-perfect data availability and cut recovery times to minutes using technology from data resilience firm Veeam Software.

The Abu Dhabi-based agricultural group, part of ADQ, operates farms across four continents. It relies on continuous data logging to track produce quality from harvest to delivery.

“Missing records can directly impact the salability of fresh fruit,” said Dewet Blaauw, Group Network and Security Manager at Unifrutti.

The company reported 99.995% data availability and an eight-minute recovery time using Veeam’s platform, which also lowered operational costs by 20% compared to previous solutions, according to a company statement.

The implementation aims to protect against disruptions like cyberattacks or hardware failures, which could compromise temperature-sensitive supply chains for perishable goods.
