Arab Media Summit Mallathon brings 350 media professionals together

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Momentum is building ahead of the Arab Media Summit 2026 after more than 350 journalists, media professionals, content creators and influencers gathered at Dubai Mall for a networking event designed to connect the industry’s growing community before the region’s flagship media conference.

Organised by the Dubai Press Club in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council, the event formed part of the Dubai Mallathon initiative and was held under the theme “Arab Media Moves Towards the Summit.” Rather than a traditional conference setting, participants met through a community fitness event that combined professional networking with informal discussions.

The gathering provided opportunities for media professionals from across the region to strengthen industry connections, exchange ideas and explore emerging trends shaping journalism, digital media and content creation ahead of September’s summit.

Organisers said the initiative is intended to encourage collaboration before the main event while expanding engagement across the region’s media ecosystem. The programme also introduces participants to upcoming learning opportunities, partnerships and specialised sessions that will take place during the summit.

The Arab Media Summit has evolved into one of the Middle East’s leading platforms for discussions on the future of journalism, government communication, digital storytelling and the creator economy. The annual gathering attracts policymakers, executives, media organisations, technology leaders and creators from across the Arab world.

Building on a legacy that began more than 25 years ago with the Arab Media Forum, the 2026 edition will feature several dedicated events, including the Arab Media Forum, Government Communication Forum, Arab Youth Media Forum, Arab Social Media Influencers Summit, and the Film and Gaming Forum.

The expanded programme will focus on emerging technologies, audience behaviour, innovation in storytelling and opportunities for collaboration across traditional and digital media sectors.

The summit continues to increase its international reach. Organisers said the 2025 edition welcomed more than 8,000 participants and generated over 150 million online views alongside approximately 16 million digital engagements across social media platforms.

As preparations continue for this year’s event, the Mallathon served as an early opportunity for the region’s media community to connect, exchange ideas and build momentum ahead of the Arab Media Summit 2026.
