Oscar-nominee Richter to perform in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Jan. 26, 2026 (GMD) – Academy Award-nominated composer Max Richter will perform live in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, January 29, as part of the Saadiyat Nights concert series.

Fresh from receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Original Score for the film “Hamnet,” the German-British composer will present an immersive evening of music under the stars on Saadiyat Island.

Richter’s instantly recognisable work scores acclaimed films and series like “Arrival,” “Ad Astra,” and “The Crown.” Earlier this month, he was also announced as the recipient of the Berlinale Camera 2026 honour.

The performance offers a rare chance to experience his cinematic soundscapes live. Richter’s music, with over one billion streams globally, moves seamlessly between concert halls and cinema.

The Saadiyat Nights series, set against the backdrop of the island’s cultural landmarks, has established itself as a highlight of Abu Dhabi’s cultural calendar, featuring international icons and enhancing the emirate’s status as a global destination for culture and live entertainment.

Tickets for the one-night-only event are available via Ticketmaster.ae.
