Poznań Steps Up Efforts to Attract UAE and GCC Tourists with Direct Flights and Cultural Offerings

Dubai – Poznań, one of Poland’s oldest and most vibrant cities, is ramping up its efforts to attract visitors from the UAE and wider GCC region through new travel initiatives, improved connectivity, and tailored cultural experiences.

Poznań–Ławica Henryk Wieniawski Airport is positioning itself as western Poland’s new gateway for Gulf leisure and business traffic after Flydubai launched a three-times-weekly service from Dubai, the only direct air link between the UAE and Greater Poland.

The start of Flydubai’s direct flights from Poznań to Dubai is a milestone in the development of Poznań Airport’s network … we can already see that the connection is very popular,” said Grzegorz Bykowski, vice-president of the airport authority, adding that the route opens access to Flydubai’s wider network of more than 115 destinations.

According to the Poznań Tourism Organisation, the city welcomed over 4 million visitors in 2023—a record-breaking year—with hotel occupancy rates reaching 63.4%. The rising demand is being supported by new marketing campaigns, including the Polish Tourism Organisation’s “Poland. More than you expected” initiative, which showcases the country’s dynamic tourism potential using popular athletes and digital ambassadors to reach global audiences.

Poznań offers a compelling mix of heritage and innovation for GCC travelers. From the 10th-century Poznań Cathedral and the multimedia Porta Posnania heritage center to Michelin-listed restaurants, lakeside leisure areas, and high-end shopping, the city is positioning itself as a year-round destination for both cultural discovery and urban luxury.

The city is also enhancing its Halal tourism infrastructure and exploring collaborations with Middle Eastern tour operators to create curated experiences, including wellness, shopping, and historical tours designed specifically for Gulf visitors.

With direct flights and targeted efforts underway, Poznań is rapidly emerging as a must-visit European destination for travelers from the UAE and the wider Middle East.
