DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Jan. 26, 2026 (GMD) – Dubai’s arts authority announced on Monday a first-of-its-kind drive-through photography exhibition to showcase the natural wonders of the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve.
Titled “Al Marmoom: The Living Wild,” the exhibition will run from January 30 to February 8. It is organised by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority in collaboration with renowned Emirati photographer Ali Khalifa bin Thalith.
The exhibition will feature 24 large-scale photographs installed within the reserve, transforming a drive into a visual journey. The images capture the reserve’s rich biodiversity, including gazelles and migratory birds.
The installation structures are inspired by the desert environment, powered by solar energy, and include QR codes for educational information about the wildlife depicted.
Authorities said the project aims to promote sustainability awareness, preserve natural heritage, and champion photography as a vital art form. It underscores Dubai Culture’s commitment to empowering local talent and highlighting the emirate as a global cultural destination.
Photographer Ali Khalifa bin Thalith, a specialist in underwater and documentary photography and a recipient of international awards, stated the exhibition invites a “renewed reading of the natural landscape” and encourages reflection on the importance of protecting ecosystems
