FUJAIRAH, Feb. 3, 2026  — Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, attended the World Taekwondo Gala Awards on Monday, honoring outstanding individuals and organisations from the 2025 sporting season.

The event, held at Al Bahar Hotel and Resort, highlighted the role of sport in supporting Fujairah’s vision and advancing the emirate’s comprehensive and sustainable development. It was attended by Dr. Chungwon Choue, president of World Taekwondo, along with senior officials and international sports figures.

Sheikh Mohammed underscored the continued support of Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Fujairah, for the development of the sports sector, saying it nurtures talent and encourages participation in international competitions, raising the profile of both Fujairah and the UAE regionally and globally.

He praised World Taekwondo and the organising committees of the Fujairah International Open Taekwondo Championship and the Arab Cup for their high standards and adherence to international best practices, reflecting the emirate’s readiness to host major sporting events.

During the ceremony, Belgium’s Sarah Chaari was honored as the Best Female Athlete worldwide.

Dr. Choue expressed appreciation to the Crown Prince for his continued support of sport in Fujairah and for fostering an environment conducive to athletic development and global competition.
