DAYTONA, USA, Jan. 26, 2026 (GMD) – Aston Martin’s Vantage race car began its season with a double podium finish at the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona endurance race on Sunday.
The British ultra-luxury brand’s partner teams Magnus Racing and The Heart of Racing Team finished second and third respectively in the GTD class at the opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Magnus Racing, featuring works driver Nicki Thiim, finished just 1.4 seconds behind the class winner after a dramatic final-hour battle. The Heart of Racing team, which qualified on pole position, secured third place for its second consecutive Daytona podium.
The result marks the Vantage GT3’s sixth podium finish in five years at the Florida event. All three Aston Martin entries in the race finished in the top ten, with Van der Steur Racing securing a tenth-place finish.
Aston Martin Head of Endurance Motorsport Adam Carter praised the car’s proven speed and reliability, noting the Vantage has now taken pole position at both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Rolex 24 at Daytona within the past seven months.
