NEW DELHI, Jan 28 (GDM) — India’s Ministry of Ayush signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with quick‑commerce platform Zepto Limited on Wednesday to boost online access to Ayush medicines and wellness products nationwide.
The agreement, executed by the Ayush Export Promotion Council (AYUSHEXCIL) and Zepto, aims to create a structured digital pathway for consumers and expand the reach of authentic traditional healthcare offerings while ensuring quality compliance and consumer trust.
Under the MoU, AYUSHEXCIL will identify and recommend eligible Ayush manufacturers, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), that meet regulatory and quality standards. Zepto will host a dedicated Ayush storefront on its platform to help consumers discover and purchase verified products. The collaboration also includes joint consumer awareness campaigns and the promotion of recognised quality standards such as the AYUSH Quality Mark (AQM).
Union Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav, in a video message at the signing event, said innovation‑led startups play a critical role in improving “last‑mile access to trusted wellness products,” and that leveraging digital platforms can link India’s rich Ayush heritage with modern, transparent distribution channels. He added the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of marrying traditional knowledge systems with digital infrastructure.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and executed by AYUSHEXCIL Chairman Anurag Sharma and Zepto Co‑founder Kaivalya Vohra.
The partnership is expected to empower consumers with better access to quality‑assured Ayush products and help smaller manufacturers tap into India’s rapidly expanding digital marketplace, supporting broader government goals under Digital India, Ease of Doing Business and Make in India initiatives
