Voting begins in Egypt's residential election

CAIRO– First day of voting in Egypt’s presidential election, which are being contested by candidates Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Hamdeen Sabbahi, began today amid tight security measures.

qna_elections-egypte-26052014The elections will end at 9pm in 13,899 electoral committees under the supervision of about 16,000 judges belonging to different judicial bodies. 

Three hundred and fifty-two general electoral committees nationwide will supervise the sub-committees under the Presidential Elections Committee headed by Vice President of the Supreme Constitutional Court Anwar Rashad al-Asy. 

Police and army forces have been deployed to secure the presidential vote amid promises by officials guaranteeing the safety of the election.-QNA
