Sheikh Hamdan Begins Official Visit to India to Boost UAE Ties
New Delhi, India – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, arrived in New Delhi on an official visit to India, leading a high-level delegation aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the UAE and India.
The Crown Prince’s visit underscores the growing strategic partnership between the two nations and reflects a shared commitment to advancing cooperation across key sectors, including trade, technology, energy, and innovation.
Sheikh Hamdan was warmly welcomed at Indira Gandhi International Airport by senior Indian officials, marking the start of an important diplomatic engagement. The visit follows an invitation extended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, delivered by Minister of External Affairs Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar earlier this year.
The UAE-India relationship has seen significant growth in recent years, particularly after the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which has already boosted trade volumes and created new opportunities for investment. The visit is expected to further strengthen economic collaboration and explore joint initiatives in digital transformation, sustainability, infrastructure development, and future-focused industries.
Sheikh Hamdan is accompanied by a distinguished delegation that includes:
-
H.E. Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs
-
H.E. Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation
-
H.E. Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications
-
H.E. Sheikh Maktoum bin Butti Al Maktoum, Director of the Dubai Ruler’s Office
This landmark visit is poised to deepen the longstanding cultural, economic, and diplomatic ties between the UAE and India, paving the way for enhanced regional cooperation and mutual prosperity.
