SCTA: More than 23 million domestic tourist trips in Kingdom in 2013 

Saudi ArabiaRIYADH- A statistical report on indicators of the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 2013 has disclosed that the number of domestic tourist trips in the Kingdom increased from 19 million trips in 2012 to 23,8 million trips in 2013.

Issued by Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities’ (SCTA) Center for Tourist Information and Research, the report further said that the volume of expenditures on domestic tourism in the Kingdom, during the past year, exceeded 28 billion Saudi riyals and that the total Saudis working in the tourism sector amounted to 203,2 thousand, by the end of 2013, representing a rate of (27,1 %) of the total employees in direct jobs, pointing that the contribution of the tourism sector to the Kingdom’s GDP in the Kingdom amounted to 75 billion Saudi riyals in 2013, representing 2,7% of GDP.-SPA
