Police Pentathlon Championship to kick off May 27 in Al Ain
ABU DHABI- The Police Sports Federation at the Ministry of Interior will be organising the 17th Police Pentathlon Championship scheduled to take place on May 27th in Al Ain.
Five teams representing the various Police General Headquarters across the U.A.E. will be taking part in the Championship.
During the consultative meeting chaired by Lieutenant Colonel Aref Ali Al Rais, Chief of the Sports Activities Section at the Police Sports Federation Department, attendees discussed the championship’s regulations and the preparations of participating teams, as well as administrative and technical issues. The meeting was held at the Sharjah Federal Police School.
Lieutenant Colonel Aref Al Rais explained that the Police Pentathlon Championship is a major event on the calendar of the Federation’s Championships schedule, for its important role in supporting national and police teams in various tournaments held as part of the sports competition events.
“The current Championship includes a number of competitions, namely: 25 meters shooting, shot put, long jump, and 3k cross country run. Five police teams are to participate in this championship: Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, Al Fujairah Police, the Directorate-General of Civil Defence, and the Directorate-General of Special Security Forces,” added Lieutenant Colonel Aref Al Rais.
He noted that the Police Sports Federation, in pursuance of the police leadership’s directions, constantly seeks to develop sports games and championships in line with the desired sports-related goals.-WAM
