NCCAL's 2nd GCC narrative arts forum concludes

KUWAIT- The second narrative arts forum, co-organized by the National Council for Culture Arts and Letters (NCCAL) and GCC Secretariat, concluded on Thursday(May 8th).

The three-day event ended with a discussion panel on the new GCC narrative forums.
In her paper for the last meeting, Bahrain’s Huda Al-Dahgfag focused her discussion on the efforts to break the social norms within the Saudi narrative arts.

She focused her paper on the origins of the Saudi narrative art and how it developed into the new breed of stories that defies social norms in Saudi Arabia.
Similarly, Oman’s Mona Al-Sulaimiya and Qatar’s Dr. Ahmad Abdulmalek both focused respectively on the origins of the Omani and Qatari narrative arts and their current focuses.

On his part, Kuwait’s Taleb Al-Refaei fixated his discussion on the link between the Arab narrative art and its European counterpart, arguing that Arab narrative and stories of the modern age were influenced by the European arts and presented to the regional audience with an Arab flavor.-KUNA
