Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crashes with 295 people on board
UKRAINE: Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 has crashed in eastern Ukraine, on the border with Russia, with 295 people onboard. Ukraine’s interior ministry says the plane was shot down by a missile.
The plane had 280 passengers and 15 crew members on board, read a Facebook post from Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry.
The Boeing 777 was “shot down” over Ukraine by “terrorists” operating a Buk surface-to-air missile system, the post said.
The details of the passengers were not immediately available.
